Multi-Sport Coaches in Seattle

With Summer fast approaching, there’s no time like the present to dust off the ol’ running shoes and pump up the bike tires. Whether you’re learning about running, taking cycling or biking classes, interested in becoming better at swimming, want to take a kayaking class, or whatever else, I’d say locals would agree that few cities are more conducive to an active lifestyle than Seattle.

Despite most of us at TeachStreet taking a winter hiatus from the Burke Gilman Trail and Marymoor Park, many enthusiasts were out there picking up our slack. One such group was Team Fastt. Team Fastt, based out of the Eastside and North Lake Washington, is a group multi-sport enthusiasts of all ages dedicated to staying fit and giving back to the community.

The group, which now has over 65 triathletes, was founded two years ago by athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and Moms, Lisa Worthington and Kris Stolmeier, both of whom have been involved in sports for decades and have impressive resumes of athletic achievements and coaching credentials.

See you on the trails!

I was surprised that this didn’t include Mary Meyer training groups — I see them all the time down at Lake Washington in Madrona/Leschi — usually they have 50-100 people doing combined swimming/biking/running workouts. It always inspires me for about 5 minutes, and then I roll over and get a tan on my other side :-)

Another great place to get in shape (and do some good for the world) is to hook up with the folks at Team and Training. Their deal is this: They’ll teach you how to run, bike, and swim with the goal of you completing a marathon, half-marathon, triathlon or century bike ride (100 miles). In return, your job is to help pay your way to the marathon and raise some extra money to help support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Their coaches and team support are well known for being amazing. Check them out… I’ve heard nothing but amazing things.
