Are you an expert in something? Teach us in 60 seconds.

Wish YOU could have presented at Ignite Portland? We do.

Salar and I just got back from Ignite Portland (where we were sponsors), and it was great! If you’ve ever heard of TED, Ignite events are sort of similar. Folks get 5 minutes to talk about a topic of their choice. They get 20 powerpoint slides and each slide automatically advances every 15 seconds. Quite the way to improve (or prove) one’s public speaking skills, eh? Awesome.

Over the next few days, we’ll highlight a few awesome folks (like the good peeps at Legion of Tech) that we met at Ignite and the stuff we learned from them.

But first… some shameless self promotion. Rather than having the Ignite sponsors just provide a logo for the event marketing, we all were invited to create a 30 second video talking about our biz.

Here’s ours:

TeachStreet Promotion Video from Salar Salahshoor on Vimeo.

We loved the Ignite talks so much that we invited Ignite attendees to submit their own 1-minute video where they teach us something fun like this or this. We’re now passing along that invitation to all of you!

The prize? Winners will get $50 in free classes of their choice.

Are you an expert in something? Teach it to us in 60 seconds.

Send us your teaching video and if we love it, we’ll put it up on our blog. We’ll even give you a little link love back to your site. Send us your videos by December 1st. Winners will be announced 12/15/08.
