Kicking Butt with Quantum Martial Arts (TeachStreet TV)

September 8th, 2008 by Dave

Introducing TeachStreet TV Episoide #3!  We had such an awesome summer at TeachStreet — not only did we expand to Portland, but we had the chance to work with two fantastic interns.  One of them, Amanda, did a bang up job for us, and continues to do so from her dorm room in Iowa :-)

While she was here, she reminded everyone of why we’re so excited about TeachStreet — she was not only a rabid class-teacher, but she also enrolled at Quantum Martial Arts, right across the street from our offices in downtown Seattle.  Of course, just getting involved wasn’t enough for Amanda — in the course of less than 3 months she was already breaking boards (we have the board under my desk to prove it!) and achieved the level of Yellow Belt before the end of the summer — Amanda, you rock!

We took our camera out to learn a little bit more about Tae Kwon Do classes and the dojo and the staff were incredibly gracious with their time.  We hope you enjoy another episide of TeachStreet TV — if you get inspired, definitely reach out to Quantum Martial Arts — they’d love to get you started with Martial Arts lessons:

How about them apples, Amanda? That's pretty cool stuff. And with the Mariners as bad as they are this year, Seattle might need a new slogan around town. Perhaps SODO DOJO?
  • Great looking video. I can't believe its soo close to HQ I'll have to stop by one of these days and check it out.

Hiiii-yah! Thanks for doing this post, Dave...I love knowing that the wonderful world of Quantum has become a little bit more visible! Hopefully lots of people who read this will go check it out for themselves, it's a great place and a wonderful community to learn in!

Whoa! You've got some moves there Amanda!

And I loved the editorial "ouch" :-).

Amanda, you are hard-core! I'm still impressed that you've broke boards w/ your foot. I have to say that I'm a little worried about Harold taking martial arts though -- not sure I'd be able to handle that.
