Mamapreneur Conference in Portland next week
September 16th, 2008 by katie
I was just poking around on Portland-based site, MomHub. Even though I don’t have kids, it’s a great site. (Oh, they’re also building a DadHub, too.) It’s similar in mission and functionality to what our friends at ParentMap (Seattle-based) are doing. They’ve got all sorts of great local listings for family-friendly activities in Portland and lots of groups you can join to connect with similar parents in your very own neighborhood.
Some groups of interest are:
- EcoMoms (I thought this article on the by marti “Diaper smackdown – cloth or disposable” was insteresting)
- Moms for McCain and Obamas Mamas
- Parents Dealing with Potty Training (they have a posting on the “Potty Whisperer“)
While checking out upcoming events in Portland, I saw this great event happening next Tuesday and Wednesday (9/23 – 9/24). The Mamapreneurs inc. group is hosting an event for moms who have (or who want to start) their own small business. It’s called the “Makings of a Mamapreneur“.
It sounds pretty great, so I thought I’d pass it along ($95-$12) to all you mampreneurs out there in case you can make it. Mamapreneur Inc also has a pretty good blog in case you’re interested.
And, if you’re not a mama, or if you’re not in Portland, check out some additional classes on entrepreneurship and parenting that we’ve got on TeachStreet.
