Portland Mom Resources

The realization came after the response we received from the TeachStreet News coverage back in July, but we’ve come to learn an important lesson: parents, specifically moms, love to learn.
Whether this is because moms are looking to find kids classes or take classes themselves, we’ve enjoyed teaming up with organizations in Seattle such as ParentMap and RedTricycle. Not only because we’ve been able to help some of their mom’s find yoga instructors, take tennis lessons, and learn clarinet, but also because we love that each organization has a commitment to providing their members with great content.
Another great mom-centric orgnaization in Portland is MomsLikeMe. MomsLikeMe also has a presence in cities nationwide, but like TeachStreet, in each city they focus on providing hyperlocal, community oriented news and information.
If for no other reason, the site is worth checking out just to see Jen’s most recent blog post about art classes at the 100 Monkey Studio. How great is that picture?
And for all you yoga loving mom’s check out this great, easy to use dvd for yoga travlers dvd we came across the other day!

Mom’s definitely do love to learn, my mom actually is learning how to knit — now if I can teach her about how to use the internet, I’m sure these types of sites would boggle her mind.
